Legend has it, if you stop at these intersections… you’ll age a full year before the light changes.
Victoria drivers did not hesitate when asked to name the worst intersections in town. From red lights that feel personal to intersections drivers actively avoid, these are the intersections Victoria County residents say test their patience the most:
  • Mockingbird Ln & 463 Frontage Rd (Overpass)

This one’s a true timewarp. Hope you’re not in a hurry because if you catch a red light here, you’re going to be waiting a while.

  • Sam Houston Dr & US‑59

    Consistently mentioned, consistently frustrating.

  • Intersection near Victoria West High School & The Texan

I genuinely feel bad for that morning school line.

  • Glascow St & Navarro St

This is the area by Walmart and Academy.

  • Sam Houston Dr & Airline Rd

There are way too many different lights in this area that make it a cluster of traffic.

  • Salem & Navarro

    • A classic “why is this so stressful?” intersection. I can’t understand why, but I feel like the HEB intersection a block over has something to do with it....

    US‑463 & TX‑87

One person said this exact spot has frequent accidents for reasons no one can fully explain.

  • US‑59 & US‑77

Repeatedly called out as needing a light. Heavy traffic, school buses, 18-wheelers, and people flooring it through the underpass toward Goliad.

  • US‑59 & FM 1686 (Telferner)

“Always wrecks” was the recurring phrase.

  • US‑77 at Fleming Prairie

Another spot locals say demands extra patience and caution.
