Rodeo season is upon us in South Texas. With some massive lineups for Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Corpus Christi! What many might not know is that outside of the main stages are outdoor stages that feature much more music.  For example, Rodeo Houston has the hideout, and San Antonio has music at multiple outdoor stages.
One thing I have noticed over the past two years is that Conjunto music is featured on the outdoor stage at the Austin Rodeo.  This year, there are two conjunto power houses showcasing performing.
  • The Conjunto Cats will perform on Sunday, March 15
  • Santiago Garza Y La Naturaleza will perform on Sunday March, 22

The Conjunto Cats continue to electrify crowds with their live performances. Their style and energy are unique. They are a part of the next generation of Conjunto.

Santiago Garza is one of the strongest voices in Conjunto music and these guys also put on an incredible show. In fact, they performed for the KLUB Tejano Friday Night Conjunto jam a couple of years ago.

Tune in to the Sunday Conjunto Jam show every Sunday at 4 O'Clock on KLUB Tejano 106.9.

Be sure you tune in every Sunday at 4 o'clock for the Sunday Conjunto Jam (SCJ). In February, this show will celebrate four years on air and it is still on fire. Playing artist like Ricky Naranjo, Joe Castillo Y Los All Stars, Jesse Perez Y Su Compadres, Conjutno Cats and more. Side note, before this was the SCJ, it was the Friday night Conjunto jams for two weeks.  Thank you for being Conjutno and proud.

Did Anyone Watch These TV Shows in the 1980s and 1990s?

While you might think “watching while distracted” is a modern habit, even back in the day the TV was just… there, humming along while you did other things. These were the shows that weren’t exactly “must-see TV,” more like “might-see TV” — part of the culture, but you had to wonder: who was actually watching?
