Duck Pond at Riverside Park Stocked with Rainbow Trout
Thanks to a collaboration with the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and the City of Victoria, residents will have a chance to fish for rainbow trout at the Duck Pond at Riverside Park in Victoria.
The TPWD has stocked the duck pond with 850 rainbow trout and plans to restock another 850 in February. While fishing the duck pond, you might also catch other species that call the pond home, such as catfish, bluegill, and crappie.
Here are the rules and regulations for fishing at the duck pond.
- If you are 17 or older, you will need a fishing license.
- You can only use a pole and line for fishing. Absolutely no net fishing.
- No size limit for any of the fish in the duck pond
- Five fish per day
- Only keep the fish that you intend to use. Release the small, undesirable ones.
We applaud the City and the Parks and Wildlife Department for doing this every year. It gives families an awesome option while making memories.

In case you haven't seen the duck pond since it was remodeled, you need to check it out. The upgrades are incredible! The duck pond was closed for about 5 years and reopened in 2023 after being damaged from Hurricane Harvey! The updated pond looks totally different from the original.
